I want to personally thank everyone who came to catch up with each episode from the very first announcement. Also, a very huge thank you to everyone who tweeted about the comic on Twitter and on their blogs. That was very heart warming and awesome, and inspiring, to see everyone come together like that to promote this comic. Thank you all!

I will continue to post my work here in the halls of Crashland Studio, along side my other Friends and Studio mates. Till then, I hope you’ve enjoyed the few episodes I was able to post of this story.

Spaced Thing has been a fun experiment in doing a web comic. Believe me. It’s been 12 episode, 2 weeks, and I did not think I would make it past the first episode.

Spaced Thing is one of those stories that started short and simple. But with time, grew into something much more deeper and complex. A story that was supposed to only take at least 2 months to complete, had grown into a story that would more then likely take a year or so to tell.

I think I let my imagination run a little bit too far.

Regardless, it has been fun. Bu I am sad to say that, unfortunately, this little fun runaway experiment has to come to an end. And not the original ending that I expected it to come to.

I have several projects that are about to begin, small, some mid-sized, and others very big and involving. The way I look at it, once they get under way, which is soon, very soon, I will have zero time to commit to Spaced Thing.

Maybe it’s a poor excuse. Maybe not. But I am sad. Sad because these characters began to grow on me. Suddenly, they were no longer flat drawings. They gained dimension and life in the halls of my imagination. But I can’t get that involved.

Maybe, sometime in the future, I’ll be able to tell the full story. Until, this will have to do.

In saying that, tomorrows Episode 13 will be the final episode of Spaced Thing. It’s been a blast and I hope you’ve all enjoyed yourself, even if the ride has been cut short.

Thank you. And see you tomorrow.

Imagine the excitement of being up and close to something that, even though it looks like an ordinary everyday object, in this case an egg, it’s still alien in nature.

I’ve often thought about martian rocks from the moon or mars. I have wondered what it would be like to hold a rock in my hand that is not of earth but of some other unreachable (to me, at least) planet.

Well, of course it would more then likely be the same weight and color of an ordinary rock found here on earth, but the feeling would more then likely not be the same.

And we can see why any small new thing we discover about our neighboring planets is usually met with such enthusiasm and a deeper curiosity to find out more.

I foolishly made a comment to someone once about Mars. I said to them, “You want to see what Mars is like. Just put on a pair of red shades in a desert and you’ll be transported instantly to Mars. Nothing more, nothing less”.

But that cannot be further from the truth. The reality is, being there, holding a rock from mars, looking at the baron land and sky with your very own eyes, it would all be completely and undeniably amazing.

A pair of red shades and walk in the desert won’t even come close.

Welcome back. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

Well, we’re kicking the week of with a batch of new web-isodes starting with todays Episode 6.

When we last left off our space explorers they had come upon a mysterious looking object that seemed to be alive. Non of them ever expected to find, of all things, a huge alien egg.

We always think of life in other planets as more advanced then our own. We often dream up stories of advanced alien civilizations with technology and knowledge far superior to our own. But what if, in reality, that alien civilization was undeveloped. What if, after discovering life on another planet, we came to the realization that we are dealing with a life form that has not yet been fully developed. That is just beginning. I wonder what we would do. I wonder, if we would let nature take its course under our watchful eyes, without interfering, or would we interrupt natures course with our curiosity, and thus, potentially bringing destruction upon the newborn life, or worst…

I wonder what my reaction would be to step on martian land.

If I were given the opportunity to travel to the Moon, or Mars, Would I be amazed?

Or would I be terrified?

Maybe both. Amazed and terrified. I’d be amazed to actually be walking on a planet other then Earth. But I’d be terrified of what could happen. After all, anything can go wrong.

It must be an awesome experience though. So I can relate to Smith and Jenna. Both are doing their job. But both are a bit frightened to even be on the Alien planet.

I think, sometimes, the fear of things unknown tend to keep us from making new discoveries. Yet there are those who are bold and are driven by a deep desire to discover the undiscovered. In this case, we can say, that would be Lieutenant Vega.
